“Changing Perspective”, Roebel (Germania) – The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have declared the year 2010 the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
This we’ll take as an occasion and motto for a youth meeting titled “Changing Perspective”.
The European Union is one of the richest areas in the world, but still 17% of EU citizens have such limited resources that they cannot afford the basics.
The project will be a meeting with young participants from 5 European countries: Germany, Poland, Italy, Slovakia and Estonia.
During the meeting the participants will discuss about poverty and social exclusion and create an art exhibition to combate different aspects of poverty.
Here participants will learn know to deconstruct stereotypes and stigmas attached to poverty and social exclusion and give voice to the concerns and needs of people experiencing poverty and social exlusion.
The highlight will be at the end of the camp when the volunteers create the opening of the exhibition with their pictures, sculptures, music in Roebel.
